Canadian Registered Nurse Examination
Apply to be a CRNE Exam Development Participant
Unique opportunity to advance the nursing profession
CNA is looking for registered nurses from across the country who are interested in contributing their time, skills and expertise to assist in the CRNE Exam Development.
How do you benefit?
By participating, you can:
- contribute to the regulation of the nursing profession;
- share your expertise and learn from others;
- contribute to your continuing competence portfolio;
- network with nurses from across the country;
- develop skill sets in exam writing and marking with professional test developers;
- be involved in the development of the national licensure examination;
- be able to include involvement in national work on your resumé;
- bring prestige to your employer; and
- visit CNA House and meet CNA staff.
What is involved?
You will be required to travel to Ottawa for 3 to 5 days and work in groups of 4-6 nurses from across the country under the direction of expert psychometricians. Hotel and travel expenses are paid directly by CNA. There is a one-week time commitment.
How to apply?
Review the Terms of Reference for Item Writing, complete the CRNE Exam Development Participation Form available on CNA's website or from your regulatory authority, and submit the form to your regulatory authority.
The regulatory authority reviews the forms received, nominates individuals
and notifies CNA. The form is kept on file at Assessment Strategies Inc.,
CNA’s testing company, for a period of three years at which time a new
application must be submitted to your regulatory authority. This is to
ensure accurate contact information, employer information, and continued
future volunteer participation.
When will I be contacted?
Assessment Strategies Inc., CNA's testing company, contacts individuals to determine their availability to participate in upcoming sessions. The selection process is structured in a manner to maximize representation from all regulatory authorities; therefore, you may or may not have the opportunity to participate.
