CNA Certification

Maintain Credential (Renew)

Congratulations on becoming one of over 16,200 CNA-certified RNs in Canada. It was an excellent career move! Since you have to renew your certification credential every five years, we recommend you start preparing now.

Two ways to renew
By rewriting the certification exam
By continuous learning (CL)

What to expect as your renewal date nears
About six months before the end of your certification term, you will be sent a package with all of the information and forms necessary to renew your certification. If your certification term ends in 2012 and you did not receive a 2012 Certification Renewal General Application Guide in the mail by October 7, 2011, please contact CNA certification staff by e-mail at certification@cna-aiic.ca or 1-800-450-5206.
