Centennial Celebration A Century of Caring Ottawa

Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City (RCIC)

Description: The RCIC exhibit is an outdoor reconstruction of an actual refugee camp, where experienced MSF field workers guide visitors through a 40 to 60 minute interactive tour explaining the crucial elements for survival in a refugee or internally displaced people (IDP) crisis. The goal of the exhibit is to raise awareness about the plight of the world’s 42 million refugees and IDPs uprooted by war and conflict.
At 6:30 PM on the Friday evening at each location, we will have tours devoted especially for nurses and midwives guided by nurses who have worked for us overseas.  If you are interested in attending one of these special tours, please RSVP Wendy Rhymer at wrhymer@msf.org and let her know which city you want to attend the tour in. An RSVP is not necessary to follow the tour at other times.

Building Capacity in Nursing Leadership

Description: This conference will identify key techniques for the development of leadership skills and expertise among nurses, as well as address the challenges faced as one transitions to higher levels of leadership.
This conference is geared to mid-level and senior level nurse administrators and those nurses interested in pursuing a leadership position in the future. This conference will provide the opportunity to dialogue with senior nurse leaders and administrators and help to identify the next generation of nursing.
