Public Policy

CNA works with politicians and other health policymakers and national organizations working in the health sector. CNA's efforts are focused on public policy related to the nursing workforce, the functioning and financing of the health system and the determinants of health such as environment, child health development and personal health practices. CNA works with a grassroots network of nurses who actively lobby politicians and the media on nursing issues.

CNA gathers and analyses data and participates in research related to the nursing workforce, workplace policies and practices and health system issues. It disseminates the results through its professional journal, Canadian Nurse. CNA also uses the research results as a basis for position statements and policies.
