CNA Resolutions - June 2004
At the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Biennial Convention in St. John's Newfoundland, June 20-23, 2004, nurses from across Canada voiced strong support for a publicly funded, not-for-profit health care system through their votes on resolutions presented to delegates. Voting delegates debated resolutions on a wide variety of topics presented by members of the assembly at the annual meeting.
Six of 13 resolutions presented for consideration were approved. Resolutions one to nine were debated, and resolutions 10 to 13 – plus a motion from the floor – will be on the agenda for the CNA Board of Directors meeting in November. These were directed to the board due to lack of time for further debate at the annual meeting.
