Meet the Leadership Cabinet
The Hon. Jake Epp
Former Federal Minister of Health

"Increasingly, rural communities are coming to rely on nurse practitioners to help meet their primary health care needs, such as annual check-ups, the ordering of diagnostic tests and referrals to specialists. Nurses make important contributions to a healthy workforce and the economic prosperity of our society as a whole."
The Hon. Jake Epp was first elected to the House of Commons as a Progressive Conservative member of Parliament in 1972. He served as minister of National Health and Welfare from 1984 to 1989 and as minister of Energy, Mines and Resources from 1989 to 1993. He was senior vice-president at TransCanada Pipelines from 1993 until 2000.
